Wow, I just finished watching Janine Benyus: Biomimicry in action on ted.com. Thanks Timo! It was totally inspiring.
We as a species have to start asking ourselves the question “how would nature solve _________?” before we start to create anything. All the answers to live in harmony with the biosphere are there – we just have to develop the capacity to observe deeply.
To think that all the information we need to live sustainably can be found in nature is inspirational and humbling. Our clever human inventions have created one big mess of the planet, when the answers have been right in front of us. Janine Benyus’ next project is http://www.asknature.org, an open source encyclopedia of life from which all potential designers and inventors can draw their inspiration.
